WASHINGTON — It’s not often a locker room issue, but one of the NFL’s most revered players has taken it upon himself to clean up the mess left behind after a team’s game.
On Wednesday, the Washington Redskins players, coaches and staff were outfitted with masks, gloves and other protective gear after the team’s season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In the locker room, players were wearing masks and the team was wearing gloves.
The team’s practice facility was also closed because of the outbreak, and the Redskins were unable to wear helmets or protective equipment.
After the game, the players walked around wearing masks.
Players were wearing them throughout the team meetings.
The players have been working to get the masks in place for the season opener.
